APrep
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
The short version
- No account needed. As a guest, your study data stays on your device. We never receive it.
- Accounts are optional. If you sign in, we store your email and your study progress so it can sync between your devices.
- No ads, no tracking, no selling. We don't sell or rent your data, show ads, or use analytics or advertising trackers.
- You're in control. You can delete your account and everything synced to it from Settings at any time.
Who we are
APrep is a study app for AP® exams, available at www.aprepstudy.com and as an Android app. In this policy, "APrep", "we" and "us" mean the people who make the app. Questions about your privacy? Email support@aprepstudy.com.
Using APrep as a guest
You can use APrep without an account. Everything you do (the classes you pick, the name you type in, your study time, streaks, lesson progress, review cards, practice-test scores and settings) is saved only in your browser's storage or the app's storage on your phone. It is not sent to us.
Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app deletes it.
If you create an account
Signing in is optional. It lets your progress follow you between devices and is needed for Premium. You can sign in with Google or with a link sent to your email. When you do, we store:
- Your email address, to identify your account and send sign-in links.
- Your name and profile picture, if you sign in with Google (see "Google sign-in" below).
- Your study progress: the first name you typed in, your classes and exam dates, daily study minutes, lesson progress and mastery, review cards, practice-test and free-response scores, predicted-score history and goals, streak freezes and app settings.
- Whether you have Premium.
We use this only to run your account: to sign you in, sync your progress and unlock what you've paid for. Our database is set up so that each account can read only its own data.
Google sign-in
If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your email address, name and profile picture with us. We only ask for this basic profile information, never your contacts, files, Gmail or anything else in your Google account.
We use it only to create and sign in to your APrep account. We don't use it for ads, don't sell it and don't share it with anyone except the service providers listed below that run APrep for us.
APrep's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Reporting a problem with a question
If you tap "Report a problem" on a question, we receive the question, the reason you picked (like "Wrong answer" or "Typo"), and your account ID if you're signed in. We don't receive your email with it. Guests can report too, anonymously. We use reports only to fix mistakes in our content.
AP Live class games
When you join an AP Live game, the nickname you type is shown to the host (usually your teacher) and the other players, and your answers are sent in real time to the host's device for scoring. They aren't saved in our database and are gone when the game ends. You don't need an account to play, and you don't need to use your real name.
Payments
If you buy Premium, the payment is handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. They collect your payment details. We never see or store your card number. Lemon Squeezy tells us your email, your account ID and whether your subscription is active, so we can turn Premium on or off. Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy covers what they do with your payment information.
Things that happen only on your device
- Reminders and "time's up" alerts are scheduled by your phone or browser. We don't run a notification server.
- Read aloud uses the voices built into your device or browser. Some browsers offer online voices run by the browser maker (for example, Google in Chrome), and those voices follow the browser's own privacy policy.
- Share cards are drawn on your device. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.
- The home-screen widget (Android) reads your streak from the app on your phone.
Services that help run APrep
We use a few service providers, and they handle data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase stores accounts, synced progress and problem reports, and relays AP Live games. Our database is in the United States.
- Vercel hosts the website. Like any website host, it keeps basic request logs (such as IP addresses and browser type) for security and reliability.
- Google provides "Continue with Google" sign-in and the fonts the site uses. Loading the fonts means your browser contacts Google's font servers.
- Lemon Squeezy processes payments for Premium.
We don't use cookies for tracking. APrep remembers that you're signed in using your browser's storage, not advertising cookies.
How long we keep data
- Account data and synced progress: until you delete your account.
- Problem reports: as long as they help us fix content. If you delete your account, your reports stay but are no longer linked to you.
- Guest data: we never have it. It stays on your device until you clear it.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account anytime in the app: Settings → Account → Delete my account. This permanently deletes your account and your synced progress.
- See, correct or delete your data, or ask any privacy question, by emailing support@aprepstudy.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
- Stay a guest. Every free feature works without an account.
Children
APrep is made for high school students preparing for AP exams. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you're under 13, please use APrep as a guest and don't create an account. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Everything sent between APrep and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Account data is protected by access rules so each account can read only its own data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and keep what we store to the minimum the app needs.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we'll also let you know in the app.
